The extractives service
The time allowed for delivering accounts is 9 months from the accounting reference date. By making these reports available for inspection by members of the public, the registrar of companies enables the Service to contribute to transparency. At present, the service can only be used to deliver a limited class of filings to Companies House. Documents that are properly delivered using the service will be registered on the public register in accordance with Companies House’s usual document acceptance policies.
Statement of lawful purpose
Introduced in November 2021, the advanced search function allows users to search for companies using a range of criteria. This includes the company name, registration number, location, and date of incorporation. Users can also filter their search results based on factors, such as the status of the company (active or dissolved) and the type of filing history (confirmation statements or accounts).
What these early changes mean for you
You can also file some company information using our Find and update company information service. It costs less to file most information online compared with paper. For example, it costs £13 to file a confirmation statement online, but £40 to file a paper form. Some countries have kept their registers open, including Latvia, Denmark and Estonia.
